Mesoclimate
The intermediary designation between the larger, region-based macroclimate and the smaller-scale microclimate. Mesoclimate is often used in relation to a wider vineyard site, or an area such as a valley with a climate distinct from its surrounding region's macroclimate. In scale, mesoclimate can encompass an area as small as tens of yards to hundreds or more, depending on the consistency of the terrain and other physical characteristics, whereas microclimate often refers to smaller plots of vines within a vineyard's varied terrain, such as those at different elevations or with different sun exposure.
