Spécial Club
Established in 1971 to promote the efforts of its members, the Club Trésors de Champagne ("Treasure Club of Champagne") today encompasses 24 members, all récoltant-manipulant (or "grower" wineries) who make Champagne only from vines that they own and farm themselves. In outstanding vintages, members submit their best vintage-dated Champagne for consideration as a Spécial Club bottling. If accepted after two blind tastings by a panel of independent enologists, the wine is packaged in a distinctive, squat bottle embossed with the Spécial Club logo.
